Is There Anything We Can Do to Change the Narrative of GPs?
The drama of hospital medicine, the excitement, it appeals to them. That's where their priorities go and that's where the stories are. We treat individuals, but the impact tends to be on a population in general practice. The evidence is that you can do things differently and get better results. I know all my successors and predecessors in leadership will have had exactly the same immense frustration. It's one of the almost, it feels inevitable outcomes of the short term planning that comes with politics.
