Translations Are Not Created Equal
There's one interesting pair in the Japanese English space which is actually Murakami because he's originally Japanese author of course and his works are translated into English. And I think they actually translate pretty well because his originally, his Japanese style is actually pretty English like when you read his works in Japanese. They are clearly heavily influenced. Does he do his own translations for his own books? Nope, he doesn't. But he speaks English and like he's read a ton of English. He lives in England. Yeah, he's lived abroad for quite a while. So that's an interesting example.
