Cecil: Some very large percentage of people who are in leadership are basely just stuck in the tn h years of development. And so there i was reminded of, many years ago, reading ken wilbur's a brief history of everything. He said that the truth will not necessarily set you free, but truthfulness will thit's like the act of acknowledging where we're actually at. But it also relates to getting rid of this whole idea of trying to manage people and focus on leading people. We hope that our conversation with cecil has given you some ideas on how you can be a better human leader.

Control is the opposite of caring. And a caring mindset is one of the most important things a leader can possess. In a caring workplace, workers experience lower absenteeism, less burnout and more productive teamwork.

“When we carry a mindset of control, we tend to shrink in our capacity, because we are likely to disconnect from our emotions, so we avoid what's happening with us and what may be happening with other people. There's really not a lot of room for us to express something beyond the cognitive.” ~ Sesil Pir.
