Is There a Right to Punishment?
The victim in the libertarian under the libertarian philosophy, actually has the absolute right to choose belt. He's the one that has been wronged so he decides what, if any, punishment and or mercy should be exhibited to the criminal. This is never going to be a mutually beneficial outcome because harm was done ad so we no need to deal with the situation. And rospart nicely lays out all the other options that we have, a too disproportional punishment theoryt for the victim.
