The Government's Decision to Build a Coal-Fired Power Station in Yorkshire

In 2010, the government announced a £1bn scheme to capture CO2 from power stations. In five years much of that money has been spent on preparatory work. Two sets of about 50 million pounds each have been spent by two project developers. But both consortia also put an equivalent amount of their own money in. So this is not just free lunches from the government, they've put their own money into it. They have now lost their own money because of a decision which appears to be placed on prejudice and environmental vandalism.
