Wisdom is many things and I think in the way of my perspective today you know it's probably much more nuanced than it was a few years ago. Sometimes people say to me how should we teach philosophy to kids? One of the best ones to ask is what is wisdom. The Stoics were eclectic the founders of Stoicism studied cynicism, Xenophones dialogues they studied the McGarian School of Philosophy which has kind of disappeared from history. So if there's any truth in stoicism we'd expect other people to arrive at similar conclusions so voila like in the Greek tragedies they have similar ideas as us.
In this episode, I chat with J.W. Bertolotti host of the In Search of Wisdom podcast, and founder of the Perennial Leader Project. Josh was one of the speakers at our Stoicon-x Military event a few years ago. We’re both very active on Substack now, Josh at Perennial Meditations so I thought it would be a great opportunity to reconnect and chat about philosophy as a guide to life.
