What Is the Pressure of Oxygen in the Blood?
The pressure of oxygen is one of the key factors that determines whether oxygen is released or taken up by the blood. The red blood sells need to pick up oxygen in the lungs and deliver it to the tissues in the capillaries. There are a range of different, essentially bichemical mechanisms that have been evolved over hundreds of millions of years to achieve this. But there's more to it than that because carbon dioxide also plays an important role here.
