The Different Types of Epifenomenalism

Theory of 'epifenomenalism' is that a byproduct cannot have a return effect on the thing that brought it about. People often have what are called functional neurological disorders in which stress, anxiety or many other things can cause ways of thinking,. But if epifenomenality was true, we would not expect that phenomenon. So maybe from the complexity of the brain, new properties, or even a new substance may emerge.
