The Nature of Justification
There are three categories that are often suggested to first is forensic. This takes justification referring primarily or in some cases exclusively to the forgiveness of sins. An affective sense of justification means that what's happening in God's justifying word is that he is taking an unrighteous or ungodly person and making them into a righteous or godly person. The third sense is a little bit underrepresented but you can see it, I think there's good arguments for it.
