Apocalypse

The Greek word that begins the book of Revelation is apocalypsis. Gerard, I think, was basically quite confident in the very negative sense of Apocalypse. He felt there was really no way out of it, or there was a logical possibility but a statistical improbability. And so I think because of those astrological commitments, he can only say, look, if you're going to try to save the world, political action will muddle your own moral character.
