Japan and the Samurai in Western Culture
Japan is a society that rejected Christianity formally and in an extreme way. This was later undone by later Shoganes who returned to Shintoism or to innate Japanese paganism. The duty of the samurai is to kill with love and understanding on behalf of this divine autocrat or leader even if his will is interpreted by bismarkean figure such as a shogun.
