A lot of the time parents want to move to the emotional relational level with their kids before their kids want to during these repair processes. "I find that many parents with their adolescents are not vulnerable," he says. How the kid responds, that's kind of out of your hands actually, and just being kind of authentic, open, real has a lot of weight."
