Git Development - Is There a Staging Area in Git?
There's no staging area in sapling. This actually raised quite a lot of commentary from the Git community because it's somewhat controversial. We believe that the staging area, you know, and get its mandatory, we think that complicates things. And with sapling, it's basically a commit-i, so an interactive command where you can select which chunks you want to commit. It's basically the same thing, but usually with fewer commands.
