Spiritual and Non-Spiritual Levels Matter
The litany of spiritual desolation runs like this: I can't, I can't. It has nothing to do with the necessary physical and emotional energy, but it's the heaviness itself of the desolation. Ignatius says right in the time when the desolation is saying to us, "I can't," let us consider that we can. Even though we don't feel it since the consolation has been taken away, we know God always leaves us divine help,. And grace, always leaves us sufficient grace all that we need to get safely through the Desolation.
