Organizers Have to Go Where People Are on Social Media
On social media, those of us trying to have meaningful conversations or achieve just ends are up against algorithms that have an entirely different goal. For the right, these spaces function is what Tal Lavin calls a fully automated radicalization machine. We have seen what social media has done to conservatives, serving as a pressure cooker for fascism. The validation of people who agree with us can feed into notions that it's us and our in-group against the world.
