The Exodus in the Book of Genesis

The exodus begins in the book of genesis. God takes abraham from his home in opotamia to what will eventually become the promised land. He then promises him the land, but he says that first abraham's descendants are going to spend a long period as slaves in egypt. They end up settling in the land of goshen, which is very fertile and part of the nile delta.
