Is There Any Type of Engineering Manager Job?

Any management job is different than an IC or individual contributor job whether it's engineering or anything else totally different skill set and you really need to think a little bit differently about what expectations are. I am specifically targeting like software engineering management because that is what I know but I have heard from folks that you know this is applicable to other types of manager roles.
