i think many people don't understand why they're even feeling the cognitive dissonance. Part of it is probably stemming from a kind of envy that some people have actually figured out how to play for a living in a way that does seem kind of absurd to them. I suspect that we're seeing the whatever you want to call that thing, god, psyche, consciousness at large, evolving and leaking out into these ways that you're describing.
