The Canon as a Reflection
When I was a teacher, we would read works like Aniccha or someone who we probably wouldn't have a whole lot of great things to say. We can still learn about how we should act through their negative examples. The canon actually kind of reflects back on us as well, both as individuals and as a society. So the idea of finding the true, good and beautiful, the transcendentals, that is not a uniquely Christian position, right? In fact, you will see this in the West, especially if you read the Greeks and then rightly ordering ourselves.
