How to Pronounce a Quih Sound
We're focusing on the vowel here. Whether you pop it or you hold it, both are fine. You've got to be quiet to hear the difference between those words. Want has the a's and father sound. If you keep it very close, want, want, what will happen is it's going to sound very similar. It's called an intrusive sound. Qui, yut. So thinking about this yuh sound as a yes might help you pronounce it better.
