An accredited investor is somebody who is net worth generally everything they own is more than $1 million without your house. That was changed after the crash because you used to be able to include your house. The SEC raised the bar from accredited to qualified for hedge funds that participate in profits. It's utterly big brother in every way, it is idiotic to me.
