The Importance of Mourning

Paul's real big idea throughout the passage is if Jesus hasn't risen, then we aren't rising and basically all of your life is in vain. We might as well eat, drink and be married for tomorrow, we die. That's Paul's whole point. And so he says in verse one of chapter 16, now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. Now this is not uncommon for Paul to mention in his letter, or in his letters, the need to collect funds in order to supply for the saints.
