The Origins of Genocide in Cambodia

In 2003, there was going to be a tribunal. And as an anthropologist, obviously, you know, they're very different sort of concepts and frames that exist in the two countries. They're very different understandings of law. And so I became the project I was going to look at. So I was no longer looking at the origins of genocide, I was looking to try and understand this sort of project of transitional justice, international justice, in Cambodia.
