Excavation of Herculanium
Herculaneum is better than pompei in some respects, but the sights do have a different field. Herculanium gives you specific things to think about if you want a picture of roman life. The great thing about pompey is the excavations are so extensive. You've got an enormous range of stuff there. So i say all that as a sort of caution, never assume because it isn't there, that it wasn't there in antiquity. A very interesting example is is the decoration of the walls.
