The Importance of Flexibility in Work
Women who want to have children and be the primary caretaker will tend to look for jobs that give them the flexibility to be able to do that. The flexibility is what we call a compensating differential. It's a form of non-monetary compensation. And so employers tend to pay less if they're giving you that kind of flexibility to take time off, whatever it might be.
