Every time a site is hacked into that you put a password into your username is most likely the beginning of your email or your entire email. Those passwords are all collected into a database and they start to find patterns of how you make passwords. So hackers have this data repository. Would they be going after an individual in this case? Or do they just go after like cohorts of tens of thousands of different people that fits specific filter criteria? I mean, one of the things they might do is go after if they find out who are your listeners, they all registered with an email account. There's an attack because most likely those people have cryptocurrency or associated with cryptocurrency.

Chris Tarbell is a former FBI Agent specializing in cyber investigations. While at the FBI, Chris led some of the most high-profile cybercrime investigations in the world, including the arrest of members of the hacker group LulzSec, as well as the founder of the Silk Road, Ross Ulbricht, which resulted in the largest seizure of bitcoins to date.
