It Takes Courage to Step Away From Fake Objectiveity
We're sort of trained not to in contemporary american literary fiction, and maybe even beyond that. But always to show. And really the trick is not not to tell, but to establish enough authority in your voice that you can get away with telling. Takes courage to step away from into a mor am, sort of a, what's the word, into a domain where actually the passion that you may feel about certain things is allowed to rise to the surface of the text.
