Leprosy and the Land of Israel
jewish people are perfect when the presence of god is upon them, its real. Their spiritual life is tangible. And therefore we don't have taras to day as an immediate consequence of la chonhera or other sins. We're told in later on leviticus that if people sin, the land itself will expel us. It will vomit us out. The land of israel is a holy land. When we say holy, we mean spiritual. Of course, it's also a physical land. You can plant and can have agriculture and build roads and aqueducts. Whatever. But it's a physical land that also has spiritual power to it.
