Learning Is Hard. It's Hard to Learn

Research shows that the single best way to have long-term retention of something is to learn it, then let enough time go by that you forget it, and then relearn it. When you relearn it, it's much easier. And it then stays in your brain in a way that's going to be more effective. This says that 10 hours spent cramming the day before is much less valuable than 10 hours spent as three hours two weeks ago or three hours tonight.
