I got my first role, my senior year of high school and it was a Lawrence Kasson movie. He actually saw me in a school play too. I didn't tell anybody that I'd done a movie. Like the whole time I was there, I was like, I don't want anyone to know because the movie hadn't come out yet. And then on his winter break from her freshman year at Northwestern, I auditioned for almost famous. It turned out that the movie had been all cast and Kate Hudson,. who ended up playing one of the lead characters, Penny Lane, had been cast in my role. But funnily enough, I went to high school with Kate Hudson.
