The Importance of Self-Destructiveness
If selfish means caring only about yourself, doesn't that mean you don't want to go to jail? If I piss everybody off today, I'm not going to achieve my goals in the future. So why would I incorporate my future goals into my self-interest today? And isn't that true self-interest? Isn't being lying, cheating, stealing, is equivalent of being a criminal or whatever? Is that self-destructive, not selfish? It's curious how really hard it is for people to embrace the idea that the future is part of you,. In order to succeed in life, you have to take the future and take out.
