How Long Does It Take for a Star to Form?
We think that those first generation of stars didn't burn for very long. A bigger star burns hotter, and so it burns through its fuel faster. And a smaller star burns colder, so it doesn't burn its fuel as quickly. So we think that probably it took a few hundred million years before you had even those elements existing in the universe.
