Government wanted to have effectively like White House press briefings. They hired a leg restrattener, used to be on ITV with Robert Peston,. But those televised briefings never, ever happened. In fact, that's the only one that we've ever seen. This fictional party was a business meeting, and it was not socially distanced. And the reason they're laughing is they know there's no credible answer they can give that will satisfy the public.
