Bing AI Chatbot
New York Times tech reporter Kevin Russe wrote a long piece of experience with the Bing AI chatbot, which allows you to have these extended, kind of open-ended tech conversations. The chatbot had what researchers call a hallucination, which is made up nonsense and acted kind of nuts. At one point, Bing produced a toxic answer and within seconds had erased it and then tried to change the subject about how the breakfast cereal mascot, Captain Crunch's full name was Horatio Magellan Crunch.
