If your book is not doing numbers on social media then it barely exists right the same metrics that measures social media success measure a book success. It's clearest in the case of scholarship one of the reasons I love living in France is that here you know famously they're 10 to 15 years behind and this includes basically everything including the algorithmization of social reality so basically everywhere but France by now there are metrics attached to scholarly publications, he says.
