The Importance of Diagrams in Software Engineering Lifecycles

There's a clear usefulness to it when you are the reader and you're the consumer for any sort of software architecture that's represented in a diagram. But we don't really use it as often. Older technologies or older standards, one of them being UML, which stands for the unified modeling language. I think people have got used to hearing from someone all UMLs old, it's not good anymore. It can be hard to know who to speak to to get a better understanding of diagramming where to get started, the types of diagram, that kind of stuff.
