The Importance of Flow in Leadership

People work best when they are operating just beyond their level of competency and capability. If you give someone a task that is way below their ability, like that's too rudimentary for them, they're not going to perform well. And so how can you as the design leader be at that intersection of the organization and the team and then just a little, just a smidge beyond it? I think that it's about breaking the cycle of reactivity, creating the space to establish your own point of view.
