And then in the 19 nineties, when the universal background checks bill is passed and the band on assault weapons. Right after those bills are passed, violence suddenly declines. But i argue it is not coincidental that both of those dramatic decreases in american violence happen right after the two most significant gun control pieces of legislation passed the united states congress.
