You Really Got Me
The original recording of You Really Got Me has been lost, but it was apparently very different. Ray in particular was devastated by the result, and didn't want it released. Pi were insistent, they had a contract and they were going to put this record out whatever the performers said. Larry Page insisted that as he and Casner owned the publishing, the record couldn't come out in the state it was in. Robert Wais paid for a new recording session out of his own pocket. The resulting album is, as one might expect, a patchy affair. Made up mostly of poor R&B covers, but there were some interesting moments. Stop Your Subbing showed a giant leap
