In black studies, there's a feminist sion of this, and there's a paradogmatic one that comes through communism about the proletariat. It is generally this sort of dialectical argument in which the subject most posed as dangerous and a threat to the system will subvert and undermine it. And so for me, that's what i'm mining here as well. So there's no redemptive angle. It's not about saying that there's been an excluded that needs now to be included. But these are all figures who use their sort of marginality, in their outsideness, as their greatest asset, or their greatest resource or tool.
