In 2017, Dr. Dean Ornish published on his website that he now was changing his Reversing Heart Disease program to include nuts in the diet. That had reversed what for him was almost a 40-year tradition of advising patients with severe heart disease to avoid nuts. The high nut and seed consumption was associated with about a 20% reduction in developing any kind of cardiovascular disease or dying from it. So they were talking about intake of nuts in average of 50 grams a day.
