CHAPTER

The Importance of Being Dedicated to Your Interests

Sloan: I came of age at almost exactly the time when the automobile business in the United States came into being. At same year, I left MIT with a BS in electrical engineering and went to work for the Hyatt Roller bearing company. This is another example of growing into the person that you need to become. He started at $50 a month. Eventually, he takes over this business which was only doing $2,000 a month.
