Meteor
Meteor has a very interesting mechanism to do that, which it's a bit different from the way we described it. But the important thing here is that this is a very common problem for real time applications and Meteor solved it for you. The reason is that now sending HTTP request and waiting for like the responses or waiting for promises, it's not a good user experience. So in, like you said, in Google Docs, you type and you don't want while you're typing, waiting for having a spinner or waiting for a response from the server.
