Prior to the pandemic, Netflix was looking at Paramount. They were interested specifically in the film and TV studio Paramount Pictures. The reason that those conversations never went anywhere is because Sherry Redstone, who controls Paramount, was never going to just sell the studio Because then she'd be left with these cable networks that are in decline. And a streaming service that doesn't yet make money. I feel like we're in deja vu lanks.
