The course of history is in large part based on new technology. We can't know the future since if we did, we would already have invented it. If I have a good invention and you do or you've got your lovely blog, at any moment, people may decide it's not interesting or they might find it terribly interesting. So that is a fundamentally dynamic and complex system. The underlying value cannot be known via human perception but rather through statistics.
