The Traskes are the book for me, they are multiple iterations of the cane and able story from Libby Bluh. And it starts with Adam and Charles in the late 19th century or not actually starts in the 1860s because their dad is Craig is Adam and Eve not Adam and Charles. They have a couple quarrels in a keen and able style. Samuel was well pleased with the fruit of his loins. My mom's family was pretty good. John Steinbeck says they were okay people.
