The Impact of COVID on Tourism
By the end of June, Italy, Greece and all major European cities were already clocking up unprecedented numbers. In Athens alone, visits to the Acropolis were up 80% on 2019. The question as to whether the horrors of 40-degree-plus temperatures and raging fires will affect a genuine change in tourism is too early to tell. While the destinations may change, I very much doubt the onslaught of modern tourism will.
