What Is Your Background as a Mathematical Biologist?
Santa fe institute was founded in the mid eighties by a group of nobe laureates from physics and economics. They were interested in trying to do for the complex world whatmathe tical physics had done so successfully for the simple world. In those net worked adapted systems, complex systems. The kinds of formalisms that we had created historically to deal with simple systems failed. That's why we don't have maxwell's equations of the brain. But i think i fortunately ole of these categories are starting to strain a little yes.
