The Importance of Empathy in Moral Behavior
There is some empirical research among humans that empathy is present in people who have sociopathic tendencies. So it doesn't necessarily translate into moral behavior, but typically it does. This kind of mirroring relationship of understanding another person as another person that is kind of like me also happens in nature. And this is something that I really find quite charming and just adorable really is that it can happen across species lines.
