A comet is large objects made of dust and ice that orbits the sun. They are best known for their long streaming tails, and are left over from the formation of the solar system over four point five billion years ago. By 19 95, astronomer allan hale had observed over 200 known comets. While waiting to observe another two, he spotted something unfamiliar.
